Mabinogi Updates to Land of Iria

On February 26th, get ready for a whole bunch of new items, features, quests and characters in the virtual life MMORPG Mabingoi: Pioneers of Iria expansion.

Pioneers of Iria delivers fresh features and functionalities to North American gamers. Players can experience firsthand the rich fantasy life in new settings while commanding new characters and skills. The mainstream storyline quest, which delivers an overarching narrative to the Mabinogi saga, is now part of the game’s free content. Users will also appreciate a new rebirthing system which offers players more frequent and free rebirths, which allow for further growth into the fantasy life. Players will also be able to transform into Paladin and Dark Knight, as well as use a spirit weapon, for free – delivering a greater fantasy life for all players with less burden.

Papercraft Sylvie from Mabinogi

Lets switch gears for today and learn how to make a papercraft type model of Sylvie from Mabinogi.

You will need a few things, including the software to get the template, tools to cut it out and put it together as well as the template itself.

First off click on the colorful image at the begining of this post, there you will look for the free viewer. Install that and then download the template file thats included in this post.

There is a tutorial of sorts on how to assemble this model. Check it out here. Its going to get you started at the very least. I would say not to use regular paper, it might actually be easier to use craft paper or card stock of various weights. Get something not too thick and not too thin. You will have to roll the paper to make a bow, and if its too thick it will form edges. However if you use paper too thin, glue may make it look weird and it may not stand on its own.

 

Fix mabinogi latency for good!

The issue is something known as the “Nagle Algorithm”. Anyways I’ll keep it simple, this algorithm was created years ago as a way of allowing a steady stream of data to use low bandwidth. It was designed for older dial up modems to prevent online games and other things sending large numbers of small packets from filling up your entire bandwidth sending “ACK Packets”. What this does is automatically delay your computer from responding to a single packet by 200ms which allows your computer to respond to multiple packets at once using less bandwidth. What this essentially does, is add up to 200ms to your lag. If you want to know more, do some googling; I don’t want to bore you.

Land of Iria Update Approaching

With a new patch approaching, we will soon be able to travel to the land of Iria. This new continent features all new monsters, quests and events for us to explore and conquer!
